Orsayor: What factors are important to you when choosing a book to read?
Jason: The storyline, the author’s past works, subject matter, and format.
Orsayor: Who are your favorite authors and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Jason: Eric Jerome Dickey, Stephen King, Zane, Steve Alten, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Allison Hobbs… to name only a few.
Why? Because they have a natural talent to tell a story, the love their readers, they actually read themselves, and they write me back when I send an email. 🙂
Of course the main reason is their ability to tell a story. When I get mad because I have to stop reading… THAT is the sign of a good book.
Orsayor: If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
Jason: Forever Horny.
Orsayor: Where is your favorite place to read?
Jason: My couch with some old school sitcom (‘Martin’, ‘The Wayan’s Brothers’,‘A Different World’) on in the background for white noise.
Orsayor: What factors are important to you when choosing a book to read? Reviews? A Recommendation from a friend? The cover?
Jason: I read the reviews but I pay attention. Recently I’ve noticed that a lot of authors have a number of their friends write useless 5-star reviews when the book drops. This does nothing for me and, in my opinion, devalues the book. I *understand* the reason, but it’s still no excuse. I’d also be lying if I said that the cover of a book doesn’t grab my attention, but if I flip through a book and find that it has no substance, back on the shelf it goes. I pay attention to friends recommendations more than anything.
Orsayor: Do you prefer eBooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
Jason: Ugh, the impossible question. If I had to choose I would have to say eBook because of the convenience factor.
Orsayor: Most people say the book is better than the movie. Is this true for you?
Jason: ALWAYS. The movie is usually dumbed down for the ones who haven’t read the book. Hollywood could care less about a storyline, they only want to make
money.
Orsayor: If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 books would you want with you?
Jason: ‘The Stand’ by Stephen King, the biggest surviving nature book I could fine, and any edition of ‘The Mammoth Book of New Erotica’ by Maxim Jakubowski
Jason is a book lover from South Carolina, trapped in the state of California. He loves reading, his books, his authors and has an unnatural fetish for Jeeps, buffalo wings, and women. His dream vacation would be Rome, his dream place to live would be Montana, his dream woman would be a mix between Zoe Saldana and Gabrielle Union, and if he won the lottery half his winnings would go to building a library that would make God jealous.
