Review

This story puts the D in Dysfunction Everything is not what it seems in the Hurst household. This story is told from alternating voices of William, who has autism and deals with epilepsy and his sister, Violet who herself is battling with her mental stability.
As for their other child, Rose she has disappeared and no one knows her whereabouts. As for the Dad, he’s so busy getting drunk  that everything seems to go over his head. Last but certainty not least, Josephine, The Matariach of the family or I should say the Puppet master of the family. When a violent incident occurs it sends a red flag that The Hurst family are holding some dark secrets.

Author Karon Zailckas does a good job of writing a dark, uncomfortable, engrossing read. Josephine is one of the most viliest characters I have read in a book. There so much going on in the book but I don’t want to spoil it for everyone.  Read the book.
