Review: Embracing the Love God Wants You to Have – Taffi Dollar

Taffi Dollar is a renowned pastor of the World Changers Church International. Taffi challenges women to explore their relationships and tells how to make those relationships stronger and healthier. She uses her personal experiences with the hopes of showing the reader how to accomplish these things.

Unfortunately, instead of reading more like a self-help book, it reads more like a memoir. Mrs. Dollar focused too much on her own personal experiences which makes it feel as though I was reading an autobiography at times. Instead of gearing the book towards all women, whether single, in a relationship or married, Mrs. Dollar mainly leaned more towards that of the married woman.   Also, at times she seemed to be showing off and praising her husband. The gist of the book was: how to have the type of life she has, more so than giving advice on how women can strengthen their relationship.

Although Taffi had a great concept of having a principle then the how to apply that principle and then an experience, the execution of what she was trying to do was poorly received.  The application was based on what someone else had said which was obvious and she did not add anything more or of substance to that particular principle. It was also very confusing in that:  some of the examples/experiences she used had literally nothing to do with that principle.
