Pilar & Xavier TOGETHER AGAIN!!! Ok! Maybe I’m being a little dramatic when I use the words “TOGETHER AGAIN”, because it’s not that type of party. After a year of dealing with nightmares of Pilar, Xavier decides to come face to face with his past. Xavier plans to film a documentary that focuses on mental illness and it’s effects on society. He also believes including Pilar in the documentary will finally give him the closure he seeks. Will this visit give Xavier the closure he needs to move on with him life? Will Pilar continue to haunt Xavier from the mental institution she currently resides in?
As an avid reader, I’m introduced to hundreds of characters, but only a selected few stay in my heart and Pilar is one of them. Pilar came into my life during a time I was beginning to learn more about the literary industry. You can call me naive if you like, but I never knew male authors had groupies. When I think of my favorite male authors that last thing on my mind is “I wonder how he swerves his hips in bed.”
The lessons you can learn from Pilar are:
1. You play with fire – don’t be surprised when you get burnt.
2. Bell Biv Devoe warned people in the 90’s – Don’t trust a big butt & a smile. Pilar is here to remind you of that lesson.
3. It may feed your ego to have groupies – but make sure you are feeding your sexual appetite in the right place.
4. One night of pleasure can give you a lifetime of pain. Choose wisely!
5. Crazy appears in many forms – Be Careful!
These Boots Were Made For Stalking is a short story, but it gives Pilar & Xavier fans a little taste of what’s to come with these two. I know the wheels are turning in Electa’s head for the next book as I type this review.
I have been waiting with bated breath for the next Pilar & Xavier meeting. Their face-to-face confrontation was everything I could ask for. Be prepared for some surprises and the ending will have you begging for more.
