Orsayor: What was the first thing you did when you found out you were a Best-selling author?
Tanishia : I dropped my head, fought back tears, and said, “Thank You Lord.” Then I called out to my husband, who was in another room, and said, “Baby I made the Bestsellers list. I can now sign my name Bestselling Author Tanishia Pearson-Jones!” He looked at me and calmly said, “I knew you could do it.”
Orsayor: What five personal qualities are most important to you?
Tanishia: Loyalty– I am sometimes loyal to a fault. I was taught to be loyal. If someone shows me their loyalty, they can bet that I’ll return it wholeheartedly.
Honesty: I can’t stand to be lied to. Just tell me the truth and I can deal with it with the help of the good Lord.
Dependability: Relationships should be balanced. My friends can depend on me so I should be able to depend on them. It’s only fair.
Compassion: My Big Grannie always said, “Be mindful of how you treat people. You know where you’ve been but you don’t know where you’re going. From that I learned to treat people the way I want to be treated and to not pass judgment on others as they go through certain situations because the time may come when I’ll need a little compassion.
Sense of Humor: We can’t go through life frowning and being too serious all the time. We must be able to smile, laugh, take a joke, and not be so easily offended.
Orsayor: Who would you like to be stuck in the elevator with?
Tanishia: Tyler Perry. Being in the elevator with Tyler would be a double blessing. He’s two in one. When I get tired of Tyler, I can talk to Madea. When I get tired of Madea, I can kick it with Tyler. It’s a win-win.
Orsayor: Is there one question above all else that you don’t want to answer about yourself? What’s that question?
Tanishia: No question is off-limits. I know how to answer them to my liking.
Orsayor: Can you tell readers about any upcoming books/projects?
Tanishia: Yes! I am currently expanding the short story that I wrote in the romance anthology Signed, Sealed, Delivered … I’m Yours. It will be my first solo project. I’m excited to continue the story of Keri, Shane, and Brian. It’ll be my coming out party! I’m working hard to have a Fall 2015 release!
