“The Monkey on My Back,” A Memoir by Debbi Morgan, is one of the few books that left me in such a daze. I didn’t realize how long I had been staring off into space when I finished it. This Literary Work consumed me and held me captive from the Cover to the last period.

In this work, Ms. Morgan carries the reader inside her heart and soul with a level of transparency that heightens your senses to a point of almost unbearable pain. The writing is excellent – imagery and emotion penned on these pages are life changing.

As Ms. Morgan shares her family past, the vulnerabilities of loving so deeply from a tainted place, resound so loudly that the reader relates without judgment or shame. This work reminds us of the necessity and empowerment of going backward to effectively move forward. Living through the joy and pain of three marriages, she reveals her vulnerabilities; lovability; innocence and fears.

While this magnificent work includes the names of many Celebrities, it is the story and Voice of Debbi Morgan that details to us the unique ability to break Generational Curses. I highly recommend this book.
