I'll never let you go . . . Allina had always dreamed of hearing those words. But when her fiancé, Isaac, utters them, it isn't a promise-it's a threat. Scared and confused, with only moments before the wedding, Allina knows what she must do. Forget walking down the a...
The craziest thing about writing a review for a book that I love is struggling to get everything out without adding a spoiler or two. I always feel as though I’m always leaving something out. Anyway… on to the review!!
Her Kind of Man (the third book in the Edge of Scandal trilogy) centers around Allina & Kent. Allina leaves her fiance at the altar after she finds out something disturbing about his past. She seeks refuge with the one person that will keep her safe from harm – Kent.
“He can try something, but I promise you this… if he brings his ass here, I’ll send him to the hospital. I’m not playing.” – Kent
I know you are thinking there’s nothing wrong with a friend reaching out to another friend. The thing is Allina & Kent have hidden feelings for each other, and being together in close quarters will force them to face their feelings for each other. But before they can face those feelings there are some past issues/”demons” they will have to confront. One of those demons is Allina fiance, Isaac. Isaac doesn’t want to let go without a fight even if it means blackmail. Will Allina ever experience happily ever after?
One of the reasons I look forward to reading a book from Author Elle Wright is that her characters are so relatable. I felt as though I was part of their crew. I wanted to hang out at the Ice Box and get updates on Syd & Morgan/Cali & Red.
There were a few times I had to pause in the middle of reading because some of the incidents mirrored some of things I have experienced in my life.
In my opinion, that what readers want every time they open a book. They want to relate to what the characters are going through. I loved the pent-up of emotions between Allina & Kent. You could feel the pages simmering with anticipation from them both.
Sometimes when authors are writing trilogies, they tend to stick to the same aka the “If it isn’t broke – don’t try to fix it” formula. This wasn’t the case with the Edge of Scandal series. Author Wright raised the bar with each book in the Edge of Scandal series. I hate to see the series come to an end.

I am loving every book by Mrs. Wright. I feel as if I really know her characters and with each book in the series I get pulled deeper into their circle. One thing I might add is that her books are very well written and I look forward to reading the next one.
