moreWhen a single mom ends up playing an unwilling fake girlfriend to a charming playboy baseball player, love suddenly turns everything upside down in this fun, heartwarming multicultural romance.

The Perfect Date is a charming story, but it’s far from perfect between Angel Gomez & Caleb “The Duke” Lewis. The cover is breathtaking! If you were to judge a book by its cover, you would think you are about to read about holding hands and long walks in the park. But I had to remind myself that Evelyn Lozada was the author, so you know she was going to bring the drama to this book. Angel Gomez is a feisty single mother that’s holding down two jobs while attending nursing school. So when she meets Caleb Lewis – she has no idea he is the star pitcher for the Bronx Bolts. They continue to have a few drama-filled encounters before finally realizing there may be a few sparks are simmering under the surface.
Evelyn Lozada knows about baseball, what happens behind the scenes in the celebrity world, and believe it or not – Evelyn Lozada had plans to become a nurse. So while reading some of the events in the book, I couldn’t help but to think if some of it was true. Also, What I appreciated about this book was it’s not one of those sugary, floating on the clouds of love kind of read. Nothing against those type of books, but sometimes I’m not in the mood to read them. This book kept my attention from beginning to end. I found myself laughing, shaking my head, and smiling while reading this book. Overall, The Perfect Date by Evelyn Lozada was an enjoyable read.
