When one woman is caught in the act of her greatest transgression, it's the beginning of her greatest transformation…
It started innocently: a coincidental meeting between old high school friends--first loves--at Butterfly's business, The Painted Lady Flower Shop. Then came lunch, then confessions of unhappy marriages, loneliness. It went on that way for years between Butterfly and Ethan. That's how they built the soul tie--the bond that, despite their devotion to God, has now led to adultery. And as with all things done in secret, they've been found out. Well, Butterfly has.
As a leader in her church, Butterfly is suddenly cast into the spotlight. But she soon realizes she's being used as a pawn to bring down a new pastor--a young man who is upsetting tradition by preaching about real-life issues real people deal with. People like Butterfly. And as she faces a challenging search for truth, forgiveness, and the real meaning of love, she may finally break out of her cocoon…
There’s nothing like your first love… For most people, their first love is an unbreakable and sometimes unspeakable bond that lasts until the day they die. That’s the beauty about love – it never dies. It may change its form, but it never fades.
Forever Soul Ties by Vanessa Davis Griggs introduces readers to Butterfly & Ethan Duane Roberts – first loves that are reunited. Sounds romantic?? I forgot to mention they are both married to other people. The chemistry between them is still hot and heavy as it was when they were young teenagers. They are both Christian and vowed to stay true to the word of God and not cross any lines with each other.
But as we know, matters of the heart is a tricky thing. Will they be able to avoid temptation, or will they give in to their heart’s desire.
When I was younger, the word soul tie felt like something right out of a Hallmark movie special. It wasn’t until I was older that I fully understood the depth of the word soul tie. It’s a powerful thing to be connected to someone by the soul. As much as I want to romanticize it, I can’t because there can be repercussions that come along with being joined by the soul. That’s why it’s essential to monitor the conversations you have with others, especially when you are in a relationship with someone else.
Vanessa Davis Griggs hits a personal spot with me with Forever Soul Ties. I felt as though she took a peek of my mental diary, and before she started writing this book. That’s how personal it felt while reading it. I have to admit I experienced an array of emotions while turning each page.
I have read this book and listened to the audiobook several times, and it always feels like the first time. Even if you agree or disagree with the choices the character makes in this book – it’s a story worth reading!
Highly Recommended!
