Cookie & Milk have different interests & personalities but still are the best of friends. Cookie is a brown-skinned girl who loves learning and who is never without her notebook. Milk is a caucasian girl who loves adventure. Even with their differences, they show readers that you don’t have to like the same things to be best friends.

This book shows young readers that embracing each other’s differences is an essential part of friendship. The title reinforces that too because we all know you can’t have Cookies without Milk.
