Where do I begin? The first half of Goodnight Beautiful had me on pins and needles. After reading the synopsis, I thought I had an idea where this story was heading, but I was wrong. The synopsis of the book is written in a way that will throw the reader off track. My Advice: Avoid reading the synopsis!

The author dropped a significant clue towards the end of the book's first half, and I was hoping the story wouldn't go that route. Wrong again! It went that route.

As I listened to the second half of the book - I felt like I was listening to a Lifetime movie version of Misery that starred Kathy Bates. The second half dragged so much - I wanted to fast-forward the audio. But my nosey gene didn't want to miss anything - so I continued listening.

The multi-actor narration was excellent, but the story fell flat for me. The ending was rushed - which I didn't mind because I wanted the audiobook to be over. Usually, when I'm reading/listening to a book, I connect with a character or two - that wasn't the case with this book. I felt no emotional tie to anything the characters were going through.
